What can I say? I got freshmen this year. I have to admit, I was a little nervous. But as luck would have it, they are a good group of kids. In just this one year, they have blossomed from 8th graders in transition to full-fledged high school kids!
I have to say they challenged me...in a good way. I've learned a little more about being patient and willing to go over things again, even if it meant for the umpteenth time. LOL They made me grow as an educator. I want to get better. I need to be better. They push me to work harder and earn my teacher "stripes".
But, in all honesty, they are sweet, inquisitive and really do want to do a good job. They are respectful and they want to learn and have fun while doing it. They are open to learning which makes teaching fun. Their laughter and smiles are infectious.
Teaching high school makes me feel young at heart :)
